CPD

During the time of school closures I decided to offer some free CPD to teachers and beginning teachers. The sessions were recorded and can be found below.

All sessions will be between 60 and 90 minutes.

Bridges to learning explores five principles in the teaching of RE. It will draw on pedagogy and practical classroom examples to suggest the underlying principles of learning in RE. Suitable for Primary and Secondary teachers.

Beyond the big six explores why and a little bit of how a wider range of religions can and should be explored in the classroom. Suitable for Primary and Secondary teachers. You may have attended this already as I have run this course around the country at various universities.

Assessment in RE explores the why and how of RE. This may not provide all of the answers but will help with the discussion and hopefully make it a little less scary. Suitable for Primary and Secondary teachers.

Teaching Buddhism explores pedagogical subject knowledge about Buddhism. It will serve as an introduction to Buddhism and its teaching. Suitable for Primary and Secondary teachers.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and RE is an introduction to the beliefs and practices of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. James is recognised as an expert in this area holding a PhD in Latter-day Saint theology, has written curriculum materials for the Church, and currently serves as a Bishop.
